Russ Kaplan's release of the Ulysses Cycle, on which Kyle plays baritone, soprano, and flute, will be released to epic fanfare this Tuesday night at the Living Room. Featuring a ridiculously talented set of musicians (including alice. members Moppa Elliott, Seth Fruiterman, and Rohin Khemani, and frequent Awakening Orchestra guest Jonathan Powell), the record has been picked up by Ropeadope Records and mixes Russ's brilliant compositions mixing jazz, ambient rock, and slamming pop hooks.

On December 10th, the Awakening Orchestra (with Kyle at the helm) collaborated with New York City guitar master Jesse Lewis on Atticus Live!, a live premiere of Jesse's 2008 Atticus album. Arrangements and orchestrations by Kyle were combined with Jesse's signature guitar style and the band's incredible collective improvisation. Look for much more from this material down the road!
Kyle has just finished recording horn tracks (on tenor) for Sasha Papernik's upcoming release, on which he's also playing bass. This will be the third album of Sasha's on which Kyle appears, to be released at the Living Room on February 1st of next year.
