An epically-minded composer with a flair for the dramatic and a gift for intensity, Kyle Saulnier began composing in his parents' basement at the age of fifteen, writing his first works for a big band that wouldn't exist for another decade. Raised on the post-bop-driven Hartford scene and finding classical music for the first time late in his teens, his style is, like any real writer, an honest mixture of his experiences - late romantic and modern classical music, third-stream jazz, and pop music styles ranging from psychodelic rock to the modern mainstream.
In addition to composing for the Awakening Orchestra and alice., Kyle's credits include original music for National Geographic Television, arrangement and orchestration for the Louisiana Philharmonic and the 2010 BET Awards, and a host of chamber music originals and arrangements.
