Versatile and personal, multi-instrumentalist Kyle Saulnier brings flexibility and experience to a number of instruments and a number of styles. Specializing foremost in the unusual combination of baritone saxophone and bass guitar, he also performs regularly on alto and soprano saxophones, flute, clarinet, and bass clarinet, and can be seen from time to time exercising his rhythm guitar chops and a unique skill he refers to as 'desperation background vocals'. He is a regular on woodwinds with his own powerhouse chamber-pop group alice., as well as Russ Kaplan's RK+6, and on bass with Kevin Rath, Natalie Riccio and Sasha Papernik.
As a conductor, Kyle specializes in large jazz and crossover groups such as the Awakening Orchestra, and is frequently sought as a rehearsal and studio conductor for his ability to bring an ensemble together in a short amount of time. He has also produced and assistant-produced a number of widely varied projects, including film and television composer Chad Kelly, and Downbeat nominee Erica von Kleist's No Exceptions.
